Guest Post: For The Love of Botanicals by Design Shuffle

Hi All! It's Mari from Design Shuffle, a social networking site for interior designers and design enthusiasts to upload their work and receive lots of exposure.

With thousands of photos to look through each day, this website is your one stop shop for decorating ideas! As a writer for Design Shuffle, I get to visit design and decorating blogs like Peaches and Candy to share some of my favorite rooms.

Today's guest post is all about botanicals in décor—perhaps a small decorative touch, a piece of artwork or wallpaper from floor to ceiling. No matter how you choose to add beautiful botanicals to your interior spaces, they will bring rooms to life. Enjoy!

 Botanicals

Wallpaper lovers from around the world have fallen for Clarke & Clarke's Showstoppers Collection of modern wall coverings. Use papers like these to add botanicals to one wall, four walls or even the ceiling.

Here in an eclectic living room, large scale flowers painted in exquisite detail add life and a sense of whimsy to the gorgeous blue walls.

Botanical prints bring color into a lovely neutral dining room. I love the way the green from the plants is picked up in the tabletop accessories and dinnerware.

 Botanicals

In this simple bedroom design, it's all about botanicals. Oversized florals in brilliant hues take center stage and hold it.

A contemporary canopy bed in acid green gets lovely contrasting bedcovers. It seems large scale flowers are making a big splash in décor right now.

 Botanicals

Kate Spade has taken inspiration for this year's collections from Australia's own Florence Broadhurst. For Spring 2012, it's Florence's design, Japanese Floral, which is seen in Kate Spade wallpaper, dinnerware and much more.

 Botanicals

In very subdued but ever so lovely hues, Allegra Hicks pillows prove botanicals don't have to be bright and colorful to add the appeal of nature to bedroom and living room designs.

This lovely rug, Magnolia Ice Wool by Vivienne Westwood for The Rug Company Designer Collection, would be amazing as the single botanical in an eclectic living room.
